Footlocking!!!!

Set an anchor line and attach a pulley to the end and insert a VT system in the pulley.You can single line footlock off the vt and pulley settup....no friction and even use an ascender.

 

RobDog, could you elaborate a bit here mate?

 

I think I get it, but not quite. Don't have any ascenders.

just for arguements sake, it one was going for a record attempt, im assuming that would void the time?

 

im not sure steve, the rules allow one grab above the prussic, ive never got near the record time for it to be an issue!!

I think robdog is talking about a floating anchor point with a pulley probably set on a static line and the drt system set on it ,...ithink.

 

Footlocking

 

Practise as dean said. Flat soled shoes for max locking, work the rythm, elbows in , knee out. But what would i know I hardlly footlock.

ive just started to cheat in footlocking, i climb on a tachyon and footlocking a single 11mm rope seems a whole waste of energy so i now use a pantin, cant fault it, but there is nothing like a good old double rope foot lock, only used footlocking here in oz, never had to do it in the uk but its deffinatly the way to acend into a tree
