Replanting after tpo'd tree removal

If my memory serves me.....

 

There was a Planning documentary on the BBC a few years back and one area they covered was the issue of re-planting.

I vaguely remember a Planning Officer turning up with a Grounds Maintenance crew that carried out tree planting in a private front garden and at the end he popped a rather large bill through the door after they had finished.

Hi, pretty much as Nimby says. Turn up on the day with the lads and a tree and plant it. Send a bill, if not paid take court action, or stick it on the property as a land charge. Make sure owner knows what will happen if they remove it, and if it dies they will have to replace it. Usually the tree replacement notice does it.

 

I had a look at Mynors out of interest. If I read correctly, if the replanting is under s.206, is neglected and dies but is not removed, there is no power for LA to require a replacement. If the replanting is as a condition on a consent, then the LA can require a replacement.
