Does anyone own or know anyone who owns any vimek machines?

Recommended Posts

Just completed the first thinning job with the Vimek 606 150 ton in 4 days so not to bad. Very impressed with it, very operator friendly and easy to negotiate the wood without having to take out large racks. I managed to get a FFIS grant for the machine which made it worth while getting it. Definitely more efficient and nicer to use than the kubota and trailer combination. Fuel consumption only about 15 litres diesel per day! lots of work stacked up for it now we are out of bird nesting so we will see how it goes long term. I am hoping to have it at the Lincolnshire wood fair at Revesby estate 7th September. Based near Grantham and transport it on 7.5 ton lorry so easy to move about. I will post some pictures once i get them on the computor.

Got a job near Mansfield later on or possibly Newark other than that Revesby on the 7th September when there would be more time to look over it.

I'm in Mansfield quite a bit, but if you've more time the Revesby site is great!

I have a Vimek Minimaster 101 I got from ianh together with trailer and crane.

I have finally got around to fixing the Minimaster, having taken a look inside the gearbox. I knew the part cost was prohibitive, so took it to Allgear Products here in the North East. They produced a new shaft in a couple of days at a fraction of the new price.

I am replacing a couple of items before using it in anger. Already got the winch operational, and done the usual oiling and greasing. New tyres required. I post the photo of the gear which was replaced.

Maybe try to get othwer photos up for those interested.

Ian, maybe give me first refusal on the 606 when the time comes!

Great to hear you are getting the minimaster working. I have been having a clear out and found a couple of drive belts for the minimaster. No good to me and i know from experience that you will need one once you start using it. PM me your address and i will post them to you.
