Well after our honda engine let go in a rather dramatic way (caught fire), I'm halfway through fitting a new, later spec engine.

 

We've just had the exhaust modified to fit the new engine and the mounting holes need slotting so it sits back a bit further to line up with the belts.

 

I'm just coming to the wiring (some is melted), there is a heat sink bolted to the underside of the chipper, with several wires going to it, which isn't shown in the wiring diagram, anyone know what it is? I haven't got round to removing it yet. I did ask Timberwolf a few questions, but they just wanted me to take it to a main dealer

 

I'll pop a couple of pics up when I'm at the pc.

The wiring and heat sink you refer to is part of the original Honda engine loom associated with the battery charging circuit.

Ensure your replacement engine is the same spec and rpm as the one removed.

Sorry to hear your engine has died . I would be interested in any pics you have of the new engine . Including fitting . Our small chipper tw 125 is on its second Kohler 18hp triad engine and this engine is now sounding a tad rough I was going to replace in the new year anyhow . So any info you have would be brilliant . Regards Paul Bell
