I will send Stihl Ireland a email on Monday and will report back here on what they say in Ref to the chain brake on the 660 now back to the cider and chicken wings.

 

Got an order for one on Friday peter and was told I can't get one til next week as they must check the serial numbers to see are they the effected batch, I'll know tomorrow!

Is anyone else having their 661 replaced with a new production 660?

 

My power head has been sent off to Germany, and I'm now hopefully awaiting my 660 replacement.

Reason for replacement is performance related, just didn't cut it compared to the 660.

HI MATE ive been waiting weeks for ive talk to top people at stihl uk about it but it now going to be here before xmas but when in the new year now owell husky here we come can wait weeks for a saw to turn up it not the dealers it stihl mess up thanks jon

Do it Jon. Nice new husky 395 like ive done (still not had chance to use it yet!) or 390.Treat yourself its xmas after all... lol

Very disappointed with stihl 660 and the fact that they said that it was designed that way.

I just hope our 661 does not have problems. So far we are happy with it, better than the 660 it replaced so far, only time will tell for sure.
