what difference would this make to my husky 555?

is it like gearing it up a notch on a .325 pitch?

please excuse the newby like question

Ian

Yes, by using a rim with an extra tooth, it increases the speed of the chain

As the driver gets bigger the chain speed gets higher . Driver over driven = rpm You have to consider bar length and engine power also . It would be no good putting a 9 pin and 20" bar on a 35cc home owner saw ! 8.pin on a 555 on 15" bar or shorter you might get away with but you will sacrifice some torque . I run an 8 pin / 15" .325 on my Husky 346 but its been ported by spud so copes well . would not do it on a standard 346 .
