quick heads up on wood chip disposal

Our local business recycling centre used to take chip and saw dust for £10 a tonne. Went in the other day and the ash from the fire was fine but the saw dust will be £110 a tonne :scared1: this include chip and arb arisings and wood waste, apparently the power stations are not taking it and the only place in Holland is backed up with it. If you have a job on make sure you have a place to tip as things may have changed in the last couple of months.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I have a couple of sites in Essex near Ingatestone and Maldon where I can take 'clean' chip (ie no lunch wrappers, tin cans or half a dumpy sack of rakings ) if people want to pm me. The site near to Maldon is the only WW1 aerodrome in Europe in any state of originality and they need mulch for a 5,000 tree memorial wood. :thumbup1:

I think it is more local to me. But also believe there is less of a demand for anything over 25% moisture in general. Drax have shut slough which means it has to be hauled further.

Ah - phew, though I think most stuff from round here goes to Drax and Thetford anyway.

Cheers.

I seem to be spending more time away from the keyboard at the moment so if anyone wants to tip on one of 'my' sites, ring me on 07739 556764. :001_smile:
