Philippines aid raffle.

Hi guys

 

I have done a carving based on the John lewis Christmas advert. I am rafflinh it off to raise Money in support of artist James doran webb' aid efforts in the Philippines. He lives over there and the day after the disaster he loaded up two trucks with aid and drove them down to the worst hit area do help. He funded the initial $2500 out of his own pocket. Just an update on what James Doran-Webb has been doing. he has continued to send aid down from his island each day and now that rest of the world is finaly starting to arive with aid packages he has moved on to start rebuilding villages. he has 3 teams of guys down there working with chainsaw mills to mill up the palm trees that have been blown down so that people can start to rebuild homes with the timber. he is also trying to organise to get fishing boats back into the sea so that people can start to work and recover their lives. alls this has been organised by one bloke with the help of a couple of people whilst the worlds biggest aid organisations are only just ariving and starting to do what he was doing the morning after the disaster. i forgot to say he has been buying the stuff for his aid packages from his and neighbouring islands rather than it been shipped from europe. this means not only is the money going alot further as prices are far cheaper over there but the money being spent is going to support the local communities rather than ritcher countrys.
