just a bit of a update, couple of weeks ago I got the new pipe work on tried to fire the old gel up and it keeps flooding.

if I use the decomp and pull her over im getting a little pool of fuel on the floor.

does it sound like its a carb kit needed?? what sort of price should I expect to pay for one of those??

cheers.

Ring up Rowena carbs - they will supply an OEM kit (ie not Stihl, but the OEM of the carb) at a fraction of the price you would otherwise pay. Great service too, just a really bad website.

It should be around £10, but different kits seem to range from £4 to £18, so you could hit lucky or unlucky (I can't remember how much my one was).

It's around £15 for a carb kit, but that wouldn't flood the saw, either the mix is too rich or the needle isn't seating right, have you tried resetting the carb?

Turn the two screws on the right (bar side) all the way clockwise until they stop (don't try to force them) then turn the one next to the H 1 turn anti clockwise and the one next to the L 1 1/4 anti-clockwise, if that doesn't fix it, you need to take the carburettor off and have it cleaned, possibly having a full carb kit which includes the carb needle

Low screw will only need to be 3/4 of a turn out. High will be around 1 turn out.

When you order a carb it just double check which carb you have. Chances are it will be a tillotson but some later ones had the walbro fitted.
