Hi just a quick question really, hows does willow burn? I've herd its burn fast but hot and is it quite clean i.e not a lot of soots/****. oh yeah its for a log burner.

 

your view will be very helpfully

Think it burns fine when dry ( as you would expect ) . Some one once said on here " the trouble with willow is when its wet its full of water and when its dry its full of air .

Make sure it's well dried, it burns hot and fast. Perfectly acceptable as firewood.

 

But to answer your original question, how does it burn?

 

Well, typically it's a chemical reaction between oxygen and some type of fuel, in this case, willow wood. So after the wood has ignited from a reliable heat source, it heats up, at around 300F it started to break down, and that's how ash is formed.
