For me it would have to be the T5, as i dont like any merc. But what about a toyota hiace ?

 

Hi ace super reliable and well made but if you drive one I think you will give it back. VW better made than Vito but if you are a big bloke the Vito fits like a glove and the transporter is uncomfortable. I sold our Vito when it was 6 years old as I could see it was going to fail the next Mot on rust the rear wiper was hanging out by the wires. The van had 160k on the clock and had a hard life the wheel arches were wrecked buy snow chains in Norway.

I was looking for a t5 transporter for ages to convert into a camper, ended up getting a mwb vw lt with the same 5cyl engine as the transporter, was a brilliant van, sat at 80 on the mway towing my car trailer no bother! And loads cheaper to buy than a transporter because less desirable I suppose. Don't get a merc they rust for fun an arnt as good mpg
