Hi guys I know it seems an age old problem with these saws but I'm trying to put it back together and it seems to be refusing to play. Has anyone got an vids that would help?

the spring by anychance? put a combi spanner in one of the slits and pull it back till it pops in, they have now redesigned the break band by the way

I find yelling abuse whilst using a combi spanner to compress it helps, hold the other end in with the actual cover for the spring, it'll find a way to pop out!

Ow and be carefull of poping the sping out, mate got the full force of it in his face, I was on the floor laughing

Make sure the mechanism is in the 'chainbrake on'position first.

 

Insert the nylon spigot into the spring on the mechanism end.

 

On the other end insert a flat screwdriver, one with a slightly tapered shank so that it wedges into the spring. Then push it in until totally above the trough and push it down into place.

 

Hold it down whilst the cover is put on.

 

Then struggle to release the brake.
