Hilux suspension help!

09 reg club cab with chip-box conversion; barely heavier than original butt but sags with half a load (3.6m3 box so 1.8m3 ish) chip and want to sort out; bump stops about an inch off the chassis. Mate suggested assistor springs as HD leaf springs are £1k job..

Any advice / suggestions?

Many thanks.

A place I sub too had an extra leaf fitted to the original springs, does the job very well, doesn't look like there's much in it when it's got a full load on, failing that you could try these http://www.upcountry4x4.co.uk/toyota_hilux/powerspring-suspension-kit-mad.asp

They seem a reasonable price for what they are.

Put a car coil spring that fits over the metal bump stop. There was a thread a few weeks ago I put some pics up. Best of all worlds costs pennies and it does not make the back end rock hard when empty.

Yeah, was discussing that one earlier. Apparently a escort van front coil spring is the perfect fit between the rear axle bump stop and, er well the flat piece of steel... Hmmm, how does that fix?

If you get the right size spring it is a tight fit on the stool the more you overload the tighter it fits can't fall out just assists the leaf spring.
