The 075 continued to be available alongside the 076 until sometime in the early 1980s - I have no idea why since they were the same, but it did :001_smile:

Strangely enough, the gasket on mine is a piece of cardboard box - it was just easier than ordering the replacement at the time. I prefer the type which is not printed on either side, and then give it a good coat of gasket shellac compound which seals it up nicely.

The 075 was introduced in 1974, some sites list the final productin year as 1980 but I believe that's more because Brazil loved it so much stihl kept making it for them for a few years.

They also share most components with the 510/760 cut off saws which where made up until 2006 which lucky for us means despite age most spares are still a available which is a good thing.

Lol true Agg, the same saw which Stihl decided if they put the oil filler on the side they could change it to an 076 lol.

Also most have no chainbrake, mainly as the engine has so much torque they couldn't develop one that worked efficiently without cooking or distorting the brakeband etc

Still available in some of the South American countries, I believe I saw them on a Peru or Chilean website, in fact there were a lot of 'old' saws listed on the site that were new
