Ash dieback

There is provision to use the chip as biomass which is mentioned somewhere in the link. It also talks about burying.

 

As far as I can tell these are only recommendations which the FC acknowledge themselves may be updated as time goes by. The intention seems to be to only really to slow down the inevitable spread.

I've just heard from a mate of mine in Basildon, Essex, that the FC just visited to check his reports of Chalara. The said its only present in young trees and coppice regrowth and that the more mature trees were victims of 'other factors'. Well, I'm seeing mature ash dieing back and leaves blackening and curling. So apparently its not 'ash dieback' its ash. dying back! - confused! :confused1:

that is confusing i hope that trees like you are describing arent suffering and passing the chalara disease onto other trees, it seems like they must only think younger trees are victims:confused1:
