hi guys and gals,

been asked for a short notice favour,i need to know what the standard says specificaly about root protection zones and distance of footings to root boundary,any help greatly appreciated.

thanks for your input guys,i have a copy of the standard now,

 

so problem is as follows;scragy topped sikta spruce on neighbours land about 3ft from boundary,my client wants to put foundations about three foot from same boundary so all in all leaving about six ft beetween the two

Cool. Specify the correct fencing and you are away. Details are in the BS.

 

By the way, you describe the tree as a 'scraggy topped' spruce - is it worthy of retention according to the flow chart in the BS?
