hi all, im just seein how much i would be able to get for my saw.

 

saw is in good condition, i have had the following parts replaced on the saw:

new worm gear

new clutch

new chain sprocket

new brake handle

all new AV mounts

new piston pump kit

new intake manifold

new impulse line

new spark plug

new 12" bar

new cylinder

new piston

new carb seals.

 

saw runs and cuts but needs tuning up and possibly a carb refurb.

 

i just want to cut my losses an buy a new saw had enough of this one now.

 

pm me if anybody is interested im looking around £300 mark

 

Bloody hell, it's just missing a crankshaft and case and it's a whole new saw!

The only common thing missing from the list is fuel filter and fuel pipe. Surely if the accelerator pump has been changed in the carb the diapragms have been checked and the height of the needle lever set all though that is no garantee you have a good carb.

I reckon spent too much money has been spent already, but its going to be difficult to sell a dodgy saw for that sort of money. Far better in my opinion to see it through and let a good technician look at it.

 

After all, a lot of the money spent is nothing to do with the running trouble, so has not been wasted and is still there to use. (worm, clutch, sprocket, handle, AV's, bar,) so it won't need doing again for a while.

My thoughts are either: -

 

1) Quick strip down and pressure/vac test

 

or

 

2) Give the carb a GOOD seing to and check two components that often play up!

 

Probably both as it will pull up the vast majority of issues that can cause these faults.

 

Cost wise - I don't usually do this but reckon £50 as a favour and to get the saw back in service.

 

And.........I don't need the work - £600 is a stupid amount of money and hope the repair shops are suitably embarrased:blushing:

 

Throwing spares at machines is damn expensive and shows lack of abillity, identifying the faulty component is what a good tech will do!
