Stiga ride on mower

While mowing yesterday with my stigma, a spring broke off. It started affecting the ease of steering. Looking into this forum I found a picture where a spring is attached same as mine. Any ideas about the part number for this? Have been going through manuals and spares diagrams, but cant seem to find this one. In the picture the spring I am looking for is the one more in the right background (not the one right above the belt), where the spring leaves the right side of the frame.

Welcome to the forum Kursietis.

The spring in question is designed to pull the steering back to straight ahead, without it the power steered models can feel a little 'twitchy'.

Part number is 1134-2171-01 at £14.99 plus vat. I usually carry one in stock.

I have got a stiga park pro 540ix and I do love it as it is very manoeuvrable. It mulches exceptionally and very impressed that being said I have to cut a minimum of once a week to achieve this result. I have to say only having done 72 hours so far started using it in may I feel it is good mower but I have had to sort the height adjuster out already so reliability is a concern if anything else occurs. Hope this helps!

If you've done 72 hours already I think you may have bought the wrong machine. The petrol stiga is not a full blown commercial machine in my opinion. Good mowers no doubt my dads just bought a new one probably the same one as he paid about £8k for it and that's for a couple of hours a week at most.

The Stiga Park range is quite diverse with machines from £2500 to £10000.

Its true that the cheaper ones are suitable for domestic use and although they stand up to light commercial use, they are not best suited.

Which is why there are 3 Park Pro models, including the 540IX mentioned. These are in fact true Pro user machines with an incredible build standard, so have no fears on reliability.

The issue with the height adjuster is down to an 'out sourced' actuator, a few of which have had problems.

Tomtop mentioned JD,which are excellent mid mount tractors but £ for £ they do not exceed the quality of the Stiga. And if you want to mulch then forget the JD, their ability to mulch is far inferior to the Stiga, which has the added bonus of pivot steer and front deck,

I sell both Stiga and JD, so my comments come from experience of many machines and users.
