Bowyer always looking for timber :)

Hi all, I am a full time Bowyer and always looking for good bow timber.

I use Ash, Sycamore, Yew, Maple. Would like to try Hornbeam, Laburnam and have a few other timbers in mind.

I like to experiment with different timbers and make self and laminated bows.

I also make arrows commercially from scots pine and Yellow Cedar.

I will be also using Poplar, Maple and Ash for warbow arrows.

 

I am looking for some Yew at the moment if anyone has some. Boards or logs.

I dont mind importing if its the right stuff.

I used to have bows as a kid, I remember butchering 1 trying make a crossbow!!

I have some nice yew you may be interested in, but also I'd be interested in buying some arrows. What kinda price do they sell for?

I just thought i also have a 7or8ft. Piece of 6"round laburnum that may interest you. Struggling to think of a use for it. Was thinking of bucking it and turning down to coasters.
