Ive got a few lumps of softwood kicking about the yard and thought it be quite cool to try out doing abit of carving, any advice would be grateful, is there anything I can try carve that's easier to begin with?

Mushrooms are a good place to start and look on youtube for videos of what you wish to carve to get the idea in your head of roughly what cuts to make, that's how i started and seemed to work quite well for me
