Hi folks,

Looking at a number of splitters, but this one caught my attention. Value for money is questionable but how does it deal with our hardwoods? Videos on YouTube only show it splitting the easy stuff!!

I'd appreciate any comments from people who have or have used one. Also looking at the BGU Spaltmeister SM500 so feel free to chip in if you've used one of these either.

Regards,

Steve

Hi Guys,

Cheers for the opinions. I guess my attraction to the 9t model is that it seems pretty much set up to split 12" - 16" rings in a very productive manner. I am keen on a horizontal unit so it ticks that box too. I had been looking at a Woodline WL 20 and while that is much more powerfull its design seems more targeted at splitting billets from larger logs, then running these through a saw - splitting smaller arg waste on it would be a tedious process I'm guessing

I too have a concern over the rated splitting force of the 9t but that's why I'm trying to get feedback from other owners

Agree about the splitting force, sounds abit low to me but i never trust the "ton" rating.. :S

Apart from that it looks the ideal machine for me

Hi,

I own a Posch Splitmaster 9, 400V for 4 years now. It was a lot of money but worth every penny. It cuts oak very easy. Only big pieces with many knots can be a problem in combination with 6-piece splitter. The four way spliiter can be placed in a low position. In that case, I have never had any problems.

I find it a very powerful and reliable machine.

You can come over and test it!
