here is my setup

i tried that method today and didnt rate it much, i think a swivel inbetween would be the way forward

Have you any thoughts on how the two rings pulling in each their direction on top of the biner will affect its streangth?

 

i wouldnt use that set up personally for that reason. a mallion would be the only acceptable link to use in that application IMO but that would just be a pain to set up.

if you're going to set up a friction saver in that way which isnt retrievable you'd be as well off girth hitching a loopie sling then running straight off one biner/pulley combo

and by the time you done all that, youve got something that has cost nearly as much as a rope guide but still doesnt perform as well

 

This week I have been mostly climbing on...

 

Art Pulley £20 (Recall replacement)

Art Ring £5

Key Krab £2.50

1m Tenex £2

1.5m XTC Plus £3

 

Total £32.50

 

Realising you could have done this before paying £120 for a ropeguide.... Priceless :bawling:
