What about the Back is that ok Dean.:001_smile:

Got to go see a physio doufery bob bloke to assess how bad it is, the doc said it wont get any worse by doing my job :confused1:

Last timeI went to see the physio, he asked me how far I can reach down my legs whilst keeping them straight, I bent over and put the palm of my hands flat on the floor. He more or less dismissed me as not having a bad back.

Apparently, to have bad back pain you have to need a zimmer

I haven't but I've heard some good reports from people who have, I have had this back pain for 20 years and have just resigned myself to a life of pain.

It sometimes get to the stage where you are that used to backpain sometimes you forget about it, your brain seems to blank it out.

But now it's got to the stage where there is so much pain in the lumber region I can't tell whether there's anything else going on, ie, if I developed appendicitis I wouldn't know :bored:

Been reading the last few threads re your back with interest dean, as i have chronic back probs- misaligned upper spine, 4th lumbar vert slipped forward leading to 90degree bend and two disintegrated discs- and i can do the palms on floor thing as you described. I have been seeing a physio for years, who keeps me mobile, and core strength is very important- if we stopped what we were doing we would sieze up and then the muscles would weaken.....Anyway, all i can say is stick at it with a physio or an osteopath, try to avoid chiropracters at all costs, as research has shown that pure manipulation- which is what they do- is fine whebn required, but is actually too severe for 95% of back probs, many of which arent spine related. They arent even recognised by gen med council, and are classed as alternative therapy. See if you can get an MRI scan and take that to your physio or osteopath, that was the changing point in my treatment. Good luck mate:001_smile:

get to an ostio dean, i have been going for years. when i was at it like a mad man i used to go twice a month, he would straighten me out and off i would go.(now i go about 4 times a year, even if my back isnt sore, a bit like a dental check should keep away the tooth ache) but when you dont do as much you have to get the balance between keeping strong and abusing your back. i hear a lot about people just too scared to stop because they think they will seize. it takes time and changing your ways. but getting yourself some kind of lifting kit certainly helps, or spreading the work between the staff, you sound like the kind of guy that will go for the big log everytime, getting stuck in is one thing but your health is another mate:001_smile: oh keep away from chiropractors, they will want to sign you up for 12 visits in one go:sneaky2:

What got my goat last year was watching one of these scammers programs, where they gathered evidence via video of people (with supposed back problems) running along the beach, swimming and climbing ladders.

Whilst they may have been guenuinly scamming, it was annoying that the "investigators" came to the conclusion that because the people in question, could run, swim and climb ladders, that they didn't have back problems.

I can bend and touch my toes, lift more than my body weight and swing about in trees, yet on some days I can't get out of bed in a morning and the wife has to put my socks on for me

I'll go the whole hog with this physio and push for a scan, but the doctor has told me that it is the physio that decides whether a scan is warranted or not.
