Palax KS35 is the best value for money IMO. For Sales and Service in Ireland go to Oakleaf Forestry - Oakleaf Forestry is a Firewood Production and Forestry Equipment distribution company based in Co Armagh, Northern Ireland supplying some of Europe?s finest farm and forestry machinery. very easy to deal with. I saw BGU's at shows, not great. and I know a man that has the kindling machine and hates it.

Must admit I looked at most on the market including the BGU and settled on a Farmi WP36. I love it's simplicity and lack of guards which speeds up dealing with the inevitable snags in the splitting chamber.

Would you consider it the ideal machine for cutting and splitting 6" logs. I had a hakki 2x before and it was too vague on the stop to cut accurate. Also 50% would drop side ways before automatically being mashed sideways. I like the manual control on the splitter and the honda engine option as we have now sold all our tractors.

Sadly not Steve. The shorter they get the more risk of them landing on there side in the splitter chamber. I would be surprised if any of the processors out there would reliably cut and split 6" logs. What you could do is cut 4 nip around seat them properly and then split. The access to the splitting chamber is completely un-guarded so this is relatively easy and quick to do. The stop is very positive so the lengths should be very consistent.
