Fathers 560 has a nasty habit of revving itself up today it did it when on the floor, this caused it to shoot forward and run across his new boots , it also demolished a clutch drum at the beginning of the week ripped the splines clean off the drum, when we took it in mechanic replaced the drum but neglected to do the spark plug up so not good, saw is in now and being sent to husqvarna its a shame really as its an otherwise brilliant saw

Did the chain brake fail ?

Posted

No chain brake didn't fail he put it down without putting it on, before you say anything about that the point is the saw revs itself up, on its own, when no one is touching it, not very safe me thinks

I'm picking up 2 new 550 tomorrow as I'm so fed up with the Stihl 261 we bought - sounds like there all total crap

Yup the 560 is a brilliant saw to use, handles well, pulls like a train and feels like a toy it's so light but it seems to be suffering a few fairly major teething problems, think I will stick to my stihl 362
