Really enjoyed watching it, great editing and the time lapse at the end was a nice touch, top tune too! Great stuff! I look forward to seeing more from you.

Thanks for all the feedback. The answer to the main question. The cuts I was doing while chogging down the stem are effectively a step-cut with a face on it. I saw the method on a video posted on here a few months ago. "The Swedish cut" I think.

 

Its still early days but I prefer it to a normal step-cut as the timber falls away easier.

I will ask my friend what editing programme he used.

 

It was a shame about the tree Scotspine. But it will give more light to the bigger Copper beech.

I use the same but with a slighlty shallower gob. Really rate it
