I totally disagree with expending huge amounts of money transplanting mature trees. I have been involved with many transplants myself and would rather see the money go towards planting young vigorous trees. This tree will no doubt require huge resources to maintain for the rest of its short life.

 

That's not to say it wasn't a well oiled operation because it looked pretty cool.

i wonder how far in advance the roots were pruned? if at all, does any1 have any more info on the move?
