went past today and trees esp Pine seem scorched other trees affected as well, south of Shap I think area affected quite a long distance, anyone else see it or any Idea's?

yes it looks like that cold wind on exposed side where cut of the road leaves trees exposed ! some hard wood affected as well but most dramatic on the Pine

round my end all the pines are dying, but we have red band quite bad up here, could be what it is, being as a lot of the staffs forestry land is near the M6 and other highways

Just the other day I noticed some scorching on quite a few pines in one of our(works) woods near Preston.

Be good to find out the cause,I will follow this thread with interest.

most of the stuff suffering here had moistuerr in it when the cold came it took a lot of honey suckle that was budding, it was just the cold wind every day
