tata/proton pickup

Hi i am thinking at replaceing my 40 year old lwb petrol land rover used for delivering logs.I am looking for the newest/lowest milage /cheapest pickup thats available and was wondering what your thoughts or experiance of the above pickups are,any comments would be greatly recieved.

Tata is unreliable, proton is ok but has a low payload and a bit underpowered, better off with a higher mileage ranger or l200, the 2wd ones are quite cheap if you don't want to go off-roading.

Used to fit tow bars. Tata are notorious for deep rust on chassis. Had one 3 years old come in and we couldn't fit tow bar as the bolt holes in the chassis gave way!

 

Personally theres a reason people pay a little bit more for a land rover. Rangers are strong from experience and has switchable 4wd so for low money but strong i would say that
