I live in S/W France and I have a very worried customer, the 150 year old plane tree in the garden is not looking too good, is it doomed? does it have the the deadly fungus, Ceratocystis platani? Thanks for any Help. Mark

Thanks everyone, I don't think its lack of water as we have had more than our fair share this spring. I was wondering if its the start of the same problem with the plane trees along the Canal du Midi?

It looks like its really struggling, its only got half the leafs it should have and a lot are curling up and dropping off.

Cutting it down is a last resort, so feeding it with nitrogen is a good idea, how do I do that?

Cheers

Hello David, there are no other Plane tree in the immediate area, in fact I don't think there are any more on the estate. it is sat next to a horse-chestnut.

Just Googled what Plane Anthracnose is and it looks like this tree has these symptoms.

is there anything I can do, feed the roots?

Thanks
