I obviously can't connect my intention to you two fine mernimblers :001_tt2:

 

Ofcourse the bleedin branch is horizontal, does "the nipple" slant away from the camera or straight down?

 

Simples :confused1:

Nipple David? now thats not a very technical term, least not on trees!

 

if you mean the old ocluded branch stub it is centre points inline with branch but at a downward angle.

I certainly find the dynamics of branch form very interesting & can quite happily look at shots like these.

 

But then I'm quite sad :biggrin:

 

Keep on posting Ben.

 

If you do have any contacts at Kew that can get you access, then I'm sure you would find some truly great examples of Biomechanics there.
