Dont get to see many elms of that size anymore, well not round here anyway

 

My guess on the pops was to do with the bunches of leaves at the end of the branches.

 

I dont have many pics worth showing tbh will have to dig the camera out more often me thinks

The pops do look quite ash-like in the first pic - you didn't have much to go on there.

 

The elm is enormous - I was so impressed that I knocked on the owner's door and asked to take few pictures, I was aware that they might think I was mad, but it turned out that I wasn't the first!
