Echo hedge cutter won't rev up

Air leak. Could be crank seals. A pressure test will get this tested.

 

Try the exhaust aswell. If it has a spark arrestor screen this could be blocked.

 

But sounds like an air leak in the system where its getting too much air and dying out. This is compensated by the choke restricting air flow into the engine.

 

Of course it could be a lack of fuel issue but if you have checked and cleaned the carb it only leaves the fuel tank filter. Or the fuel tank vent.

my money is on a blocked exhaust or exhaust port

 

hedge cutters arn't generally used with wide open throttle

 

i have seen exhausts cleaned out by putting them in wood burner overnight

 

remove the exhaust and give is a small run to prove it can reach top revs
