Purpose Built Forwarder Thread (OSA, FMG/Bruunett, Entracon, Norcar/Logset etc)

Recommended Posts

Sorted the spool valve problem, needed a bit of adjustment on the servos.Wiring is in good condition, it had a full new wiring loom when it was rebuilt, Noticed yesterday it,s had it,s timber bunks widened by about 9 inches each side. You can see on the headboard and the doglegs on the bolsters. Now the pressure is off the Bruunett, going to fit a new radiator and oil cooler. The Bruunett is a lot happier not having to lift the big saw logs.

Be interested to know where you sourced the oil cooler for the 578

Hmmm, next Bruunett problem? Either doesn't like the heat or is the engine oil pump on the way out? Always shows flickering low oil pressure at tickover when warmed up but now exhibiting the same when even revving as high as 1500 rpm + ; granted it's working up and down a decent slope. Switch it off for 5 mins and the light goes out at startup but prob returns soon enough. Topped up the oil - seemed to help - for 10 minutes!

Or could be inj pump shaft seal seal as level might be going up i.e. diesel in crankcase...

TCD, try fitting a pressure gauge, to check the pressure, maybe a faulty pressure switch, or maybe bigends and or oilpump.

TBH I trust the pressure switch, esp. since it goes off after a 5 minute rest / cooldown. Might be blocked filter / pump strainer due to using newer detergent oil which has loosened crap. I've just been reading the horror stories about main bearings and / oil pump. What could be a moderately easy job is a complete heahache because the oil pan is integral with the frame of the machine... Not what I need right now, just spent thousands on the hydraulics, time to leave it in the yard? Did you have those Ponsse details? Thx
