hi i drove a black cab for many yrs got part exchanged last yr,you steer the forwarder by the crane mini lever left to right,i never used the steering wheel, the pedals if sat facing bunk are throttle, brake, and full speed to save using the speed dial never used it either myself! was a great little forwarder but we found it underpowerd.

Interesting points re the 840. Lovely size machine imo (black cab that is or TX now) 820 steering the same and infuriating inrespo trying to dock the crane on the front rest with the seat turning; was an art trying to sync it. Irrelevant on bunk mounted 840 obv soz.

Thanks guys

I thought it must of been the mini leavers, but there must be a fault with it. The grapple Also wouldn't open and close so probably electrical.

Was looking at a low hours one but its been sitting a while and needs a bit of a tidy up.

Have you recently acquired this machine? Clue - does it need new tyres?

No was just looking at it last night tyres on the front would be at least 85% rears 20%

Its on the link that I posted the other day. what do you think the price range for a reasonable 840 would be?

I viewed an 840 black cab ('97 with 17000 hrs for £11k; everything had been done on it except the tyres and tracks which would basically need changing immediately. Pump broke and it was laid up for over 6 months. Never collected it in the end. Shame. So, £10-15k. Rightly or wrongly, 820's make more.
