Hello all,

Putting out the feelers for any climbing jobs in the North West.

I am currently on course obtaining my CS38 / CS39 / CS50, all going well I should be qualified and ready for work post 25th of May.

I am looking for employment in the North West, ideally Manchester and North Yorkshire. I am based in Rochdale.

Although I do not have any experience doing a climbing job yet, I have a wealth of transferable skills, including a full UK driving license with heavy goods, and a CPCS card for excavator 360. Further to these skills, I possess all the attributes of a recent service leaver, including a good team ethos, an excellent work ethic, sense of humour and commitment to get the job done in a safe and efficient manner.

I am not fussy as to job status, would love a full time job but will take contract work, and open to the idea of part time work.

So, if you are employing or have a big job coming up in my area, and you want another hard working dedicated bloke on your team give me a shout.

Thank you for reading.

Good ad, well written, but you wont get climbing work yet. Your HGV skills/license is proabably your best asset, and many people need extra workers so your certs help you fill a role where you might need to pick up a saw once or twice a day and maybe be the (on paper only) on site rescuer. But climbing as a job is a way off yet.

Good luck though.

Good luck, didnt mean to be negative, its just everyone wants a climbing job and its really not going to happen, knowing how to run a jobsite first is far more important and climbing is a minor part of that IMO.

Dragging brash yes, but also setting up a maintaining a safe worksite while the climber does his thing, its all about team work. Try and look beyond climbing for now.

No problem, i appreciate the information and your views, I've got plenty of experience working in a team and leading small construction tasks, adhering to health and safety at all times, I am keen to get into the industry and appreciate I will have to start at the bottom, I will learn more that way too, and I want to earn my place in a professional team.

Hello Gordon,

I'm working for a company in Manchester, its called the Manchester Tree Station, just google the company name and you'll get some contact details. Rupe is of course right about the climbing side of things but we haul alot of timber and need guys with heavy plant tickets. We do a mixed bag of works, from woodland management to crane dismantles, timber milling and biomass. Having said that though mate, if there's a chance to offer a guy a chance in the tree we always try to be supportive and offer that chance (as long as the guy/gal isn't a f**king liability).

Regards, David.
