6 tonne leccy splitter from Demark

Got mine on a keen price last week from an agricultral equipment dealer up in North Norfolk, has some useful features like a preset return stop setter,good wheels on the base and very solidly built and finished.

Split up med sized oak no pbs at all.

I think that 6 tonne is about the max you can on 13amp supply, came with a splitting cross as well.

Don't they also do a 20t towable splitter.?

That splitter is made in China and rebadged/modified slightly by a multitude of different firms.

 

Can I ask what you paid for it?

 

I have the Mitox version which I paid £500 for- again with a cross wedge.

Screwfix sell it cheapest, branded Woodstar, without the 4 way wedge.

There's a green varient on eBay also.

 

I find it excellent (with some modifications to the wedge to make it fatter) for splitting small billets about a metre long. It's OK on larger stuff but you have to be careful not to jam the levers at the side when you push the wedge into the log.
