I gave the lock jack a go for a week and found it very jerky and hard to get on with, I nicknamed it the toilet flush of death. The spiderjack on the other hand is awesome. Really smooth and you can really move round the tree quickly with the self feed feature, It's really good on big take downs because of that

Base the choice on your climb style and the trees and the type of work you do.

If you find you move your TiPs alot the LJ is good choice especially if you need to midline connect and disconnect.

I use both but definitely prefer the Sj for large canopy work and removals.

I have been using both with the Singing Tree RW as well with no complaints and

have worked out a good system with out a stiff tether. I will share this in time just need a few more hours to ensure it will not fail.

Cheers

The key part is the week. It takes some people a lot longer to get smooth with them, as can the sj. The first week I had my lj I regretted buying it. The third week I had mine I thought it was one of the best things I'd ever bought. Still is, despite other purchases and climbing on a different system now

The one I used was burrowed from someone I worked with so I gave it a good go but then had to give it back.

Another point I'll make for the review between them is although the SJ seems more high tech then the LJ, it is cheaper
