Felled a pop for a mate last week and got rid of 2 loads to a mate of his but was left with 1 load, mainly the trunk and base, to get rid of. There was about a level transit full a large unsplit rings. He managed to find someone to buy them off him for 100 quid. Why can't I find people like that. The git :confused1:

It's not what you know but who you know. You were too busy ringing it up:biggrin:

Your luck will change, keep smiling.

I always thought pop was crap firewood so £100 does sound a lot, it's the sort of thing i'd be happy to give away just to see the back of it

My mate does need some luck he's just been screwed over by 2 firms for £1800 and £3800 and only been in business for a year

The public dont know what they are buying. If you cut a load of ash into logs and took the truck round to him and charged £120 he would probably call trading standards because he thinks your ripping him off. They also seem to think a heaped truck load of rings is going to volume up by three times when cut into logs.

Odd isn't it that 'cos he's someone's mate it's alright.

The thread might be "rip of log merchants sell sopping wet rings to unsuspecting public"

Just an observation. All about the POV I guess.
