Sorry to bore you folks but I've come to a bit of a stand still with an assignment I'm currently working on. I have to, "Explain potential legal consequnces facing the tree surveyor." Any thoughts/ideas are most welcome.

You'd probably have to look at different scenarios where you as a tree surveyor might end up in trouble, say by not picking up obvious defects or making reasonable recommendations, and then for each scenario outline the possible legal consequences.

 

If you have access to a college LRC then they should have a copy of the AA Guidance Note No. 7 Tree Surveys, which seeks to assist tree surveyors to clarify survey objectives and ensure that they meet the duty of care, among other things. Might be a good starting point.

 

What else does the assignment brief say about this task?
