Hmmm, Its a hard one, IF it was my best friend, I'd go to the end of the earth to help them, but they are a bloody good friend and wouldn't want to see them or their kids suffer, They have also stood by me through hell and back.

 

I don't belive in the blood thicker than water thing as there are certain members of my family I wouldn't lend a biro to!

I thought long and hard about lending some money to get them outta the crap, the crunch came when I heard that he'd made out he'd paid the bills and hadnt. I did eventually make an offer to help on Sunday, and the response was that she felt it would impose too much on our friendship to accept. Just waiting now to hear the next installment.

a sensible approach is not to mix either & loaning money its way messy, Trust me !

 

offer advice where you & they think its needed,

trying to sort other peoples lives, when they are low & stressed, it can seem to them as intefering.

she has already told you so in not too many words, so if they know they can call , wait & let them

I'm not sad about it Lee, I've learn't over the years through being let down by various family members I have 2 friends that I know no matter what I ask they will be there doing all they can and I'd do the same for them. I work on the treat people how you wish to be treated.

i am very much the same, but the family im not in contact with that much wouldnt ask for money anyways, ive had a few OLD friends that ive lent money to thinking they were decent then they ****** off, ive got a close mate at the min who has a house 2 cars etc and is well in debt, nw his gf just had a crash and they are going to be even more in, but like my dad told me you have to bite the bullet and get your self out of the hole,

i used to be a messy drugged up idiot, in debt with not many friend and no prospect, i bit the bullet and i am now self imployed, have a beautiful girlfriend and looking to make a family in the nr future, you just need a kick up the back side sometimes, cut your losses and go for it hammer and tongue!!!
