Mini Scaffold Tower | eBay

The funny bit is this-

"I made my own scaffold boards out of decking boards from B&Q. Took about an hour to make and cost around £50."

For £50 he could have had condemmed scaffold boards, cut the decent portion out, and had wood left over for his wood burner!

Anyone here fancy trusting their life to some B&Q decking boards?

Yep, i would!

That's a 4ft span with no centre support, unlike when decking is used for it's intended purpose.

My 13 1/2 stone would go straight through that :blushing::lol:

Depending on their grade, scaffold boards are either 1.2m or 1.5m centres for support. The super boards rated at 1.5m came in and to be honest were no better than standard, the sellers just charged a premium for them when there was a worldwide shortage of scaffold boards in 2006.

A standard scaffold decked out at 1.2m centre supports is rated at 2.00 kN m2 - don't know what B&Q's decking is rated at?

Certainly not that much

Decking supports are usually every eighteen inches- any more and the flex is evident right away.
