Now I always thought that self employment you couldn't work for the same person day in day out?

 

That only applies in the construction industry tree work comes under different rules I have checked this out with HMRC you can take someone on self employed full time.

Yes, you can be SE on short contracts, of course you can. But the OP doesnt say its for a 2-3 month contract, it states full time job vacancy.

You can in the construction industry because thats why they have CIS. (or whatever its called now)

You can if some one is self employed all they do is invoice you per week or month which ever you agree they must have there own public liability ins and take care of there own tax and NIS. Cis is just for the construction industry because to may people were being paid cash in hand

Why would they need PL insurance, if they are freelance working under your direction.
