Mark, if I can ever persuade my keeper to let me go stalking with him I'll see if I can bring a guest. :thumbup1:

Wouldn't hold out much hope though, he's a canny bugger! :001_rolleyes::laugh1:

Something not right if you can't tell your keeper your going on your land! Sounds like your keeper is lord of the manor and your just the funding!🚶🐔🐣?

I've not had FAC long, I'm still probationary, I need to shoot with him. :001_smile:

He's not just the keeper, he works on the farm as well. He makes the shoot what it is anyway, without him it would be what it was for years before, a bunch of blokes wandering round with nothing to shoot at!:laugh1:

I don't worry about it, I don't know what I'm doing anyway, I wouldn't want to go out without him, probably wouldn't find anything if I tried :laugh1:

In your situation you could put some high seats up with a little steering from the keeper and wait for the deer to come to you. That way you won't tie the keeper up. Hands on training. Have you got DSC1?

No no no, I got nothing, I'm very new to it, well, I say new to it, I'm in no position to start yet, I didn't use the 243 entitlement, I bought an hmr to get a feel for it on. I'll have a few years shooting foxes first before I move onto deer.

When i do buy a 243 i'll look into the dsc certificate. No rush for now, never done any rifle shooting before, happy to start small :001_smile:

Good on you worcwuss for not jumping straight in. Do plenty of rabbiting and foxing first. Learn about different weights and type of bullet and what damage they do, trajectory, windage backstops etc etc etc first. One thing I would advise is spend as much on your scope as you do on your rifle. A rifle is no good without a good quality scope
