Floating shelf bracket/ideas?

Thanks for the help folks.

 

I see the problem with keeping the pins 90 degrees square with the wall and the shelf so the brackets that Chippy used or the welded up flat bar method seems the best.

 

Will report back once it's done.

The only slight problem with the brute force is the internal walls are thermolite blocks.

 

You can scoop it out with a tea spoon. Would probably burst out the pin.

 

Think I'll go with the flat welded bar idea. Will take the wood into the joiners shop for nice straight drilling.

Yep would't do it my way with thermalite block. In fact I would be cautious about any canteleverd shelf system with thermalite.
