Looking for 1st job !!!

Hi,

 

I have recently passed my CS30 and basic first aid, currently have a full time job but am looking for a career change to work in the tree work industry.

 

I have booked some time off from my current job and am therefore available for work for 1 week from Saturday April 13th. I have my own transport, P.P.E. but as yet can't afford a decent saw. I can work anywhere on the U.K. mainland and will probably camp out for the week if needed.

 

This will be my first job, which I can either invoice as self employed or i can go on the books for a week. I am looking to gain some decent experience and get a start in the industry, while at the same time putting any monies earned towards other courses to broaden my horizons and improve my chances of starting full time in the industry.

You'd do better to volunteer for free. A weeks experience and a glowing reference, plus the chance of some good contacts would go a lot further than a few quid. I'd volunteer weekends and keep your pay coming in from the current job. Unless your using up holiday pay for this week coming up, which is a good idea.

Thanks for the tip, I've already offered my services at weekends to a number of companies local to me (ie stockport) and they are all saying the same thing about a lack of work at the moment.

 

I am hoping that by mid April the work will have picked up and I can get somebody interested enough to give me a break.
