7000! Poplar to clear fell !!

Recommended Posts

Yeah I know chipper. Went an picked him up from Devon and took him across to samarb. Nice bloke. And he hasn't been looked over. Just working it all out currently. Gonna speak to stobart tomorrow.

Benchmark 2 years ago was £15/tonne. FF were offering £16/m3 which seemed amazing but of course they never picked the wood up and then defaulted :001_rolleyes:

Also, make sure the trees are of a reasonable size!

At best you're looking @ £13t into the wagon. You've got to fell and extract and chip and make a profit out of £13t you might scrape it if you were fully mech harvesting. I think you might struggle a wee bit.

That's not saying you shouldn't. You'll make a wage and get the experience.

Have fun, pick your cutters carefully!

Not yet mate. Avoiding the calculator ATM  ill do it soon

Thanks onfoot. Ill work it all out carefully. Probably be walking a thin line though :001_huh:

I think so too but so long as you've enough to pay the bills, a bunch of flowers for the missus and a cold one at the end of the week you'll be getting experience that money can't buy. So some folks will say its not worth it but belive me. If it pays the bills and doesn't cost you anything it's a good day!
