Zk2 user manual

Recommended Posts

Under current puwer then it doesn't need to be tested, but forgetting about common sense deployed by logical people for a minute, think worse case, imagine the bloke who thinks ddrt is safer is reading the manual.... He would see that any tether without sterling or abr printed on it is unacceptable and not allowed to be used in work.

The manual is not, and will not be gospel. The ce mark issue of homemade equipment would be the stumbling point

I'd disagree John. The general consensus is that the wrench is a climbing aid rather than PPE, hence no LOLER and no CE mark required. By extension, the tether is the same.

However, if the manufacturer's instructions tell you not to use a home made tether, which the first draft did, then in using one, as virtually all of us are, you are in direct contravention of the directions for use. :001_smile:

But even under puwer, if it is not PPE, which it is not, it doesn't need to be CE marked or LOLER tested. It just needs to be suitable for work, which, if the manufacturer's instructions say it is, then under puwer it is ok.

So if the wrench instructions say 'a tether as specified by the user should used' then a tether specified by the user (and made by Adam) is ok....
