Danish phasing out oil & gas heating.

this bodes well, there is going to be a massive boom in forestry and much planting to sustain these moves!

 

Whether their targets work out on time, one can only hope. But they aim to get 35% of their elec. from renewable sources by 2020 and 100% by 2050. During the oil crisis of the '70s, Denmark which was heavily dependent on oil, was particularly hard hit. They decided then, that being dependent on other nations for the majority of their energy was a bad thing; and put their mind into doing something about it.

 

They already have more trees planted for commercial use than existed in 1968. And are continually planting on a rotational basis.
