I was wondering if there would be a lot of wear if I were to use a normal cambium saver with maillon/krab through the rings and then a pulley on the maillon/krab with my rope though the pulley? It would be un-retrievable but would make climbing a lot smoother.

What are your thoughts?

Presumably you mean a webbing type cambium saver....?

There would be wear but no worse than any other wearing surface. Mixing steel and Ali will lead to quicker wear in the Ali.

Cord is cheap, why not have a bash at tying one like some of the ones shown....?

Cheers, I have a prussik spare and i could always cut a short length off of my main line, now all I need is a pulley and a couple of maillons. Recommended pulleys???

Do what I did dude, bit of climbing line make a prussik loop and put a pinto rig pulley with a spacer on and just use a running bowline to chocker, works so well and you'll save so much energy and be faster at the job that going up to your anchor won't matter. No need for a mallion on this set up. If you want to use a fixed cheek pulley like isc or petzl you will have to use a mallion.
